Registered Nurse - Emergency Services (FT)

The Registered Nurse shall be responsible for planning, supervising and evaluating the nursing care of patients and for correlating the nursing process, the medical plan of care and policies. . The RN is also responsible for chart reviews, entering & reconciliation of charges, compiling data and reports as directed. Maintains the ER to ensure prompt treatment of patients. Works diligently towards the comfort and well being of patients and their families. Works towards minimizing patient wait times by triaging patients at bedside. Expedites patient care through the use of order entry at triage.
Reports to shift Charge Nurse and Emergency Department Unit Director.
Responsible for nursing technicians, licensed practical nurses, graduate practical nurses, graduate nurses or registered nurses who may be working under or precepting under staff RN. Responsible for all shift staff on the unit when fulfilling relief charge nurse role. Responsible for demonstrating ethical and appropriate clinical behavior while continually assuring the patient s dignity, privacy and rights in respect to the population and any other care specific needs of the patient. Education:
Graduate of an AD, Baccalaureate, or diploma nursing program.
Experience/Skills:
Minimum 1 year Registered Nurse experience required.
Keyboarding/typing/mouse skills are required due to electronic recordkeeping.
Licenses/Certificates:
Florida license to practice as a Registered Nurse.
Must obtain current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification prior to hire date. All certifications must be approved by the American Red Cross and/or the American Heart Association. BTLS or TNCC highly recommended.
