Will be responsible for the analysis and preparation of financial reports, monitoring and providing analysis on business financial performance, and preparation of findings and recommendations to management.
The ideal candidate will be a fast learner with strong attention to detail, proactive and prepared for daily interaction with Senior Management. The candidate should have manufacturing process experience. L-3 financial reporting experience is preferred. The Finance Manager will work closely with the CFO and finance leadership. Strong focus in meeting or exceeding deadlines.
Key
Responsibilities:
General Finance Concepts to include but not limited to the following:
Develop and present monthly short-term forecasts by monitoring actual results and getting feedback from functional managers (orders, sales, EBIT, and cash)
Assist with month end close activities: validating results, creating / approving journal entries
Prepare and review detailed overhead budgets and plans
Analyze data and prepare variance analysis as required
Prepare and submit monthly and quarterly financial reports
Convert financial data into meaningful business information for presentations to Senior Management
Support the development and presentation of the annual and long-range plans
Provide support and analyses for financial audits
Maintain the financial forecasting system
Proficient in other General Accounting and Finance disciplines to lead and support entire finance team. Perform job duties in support of Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.
Special projects and ad-hoc analyses as required
Estimate at Completion review and analysis
Presentation of EAC results to include financial risk and opportunity analysis
Prepare and submit all EAC related reports to management as required
Manpower trend composition and analysis
Training and coaching of analysts
Implementation of new EAC and forecasting tools
Close coordination with Program Management and other functional management for EAC preparation and coordination
Required
Qualifications:
Bachelors or Master's degree in Accounting or Finance required; MBA preferred
Minimum of 8 years of relevant experience in finance or business
Work history demonstrating ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Ability to multi-task in a dynamic business environment
Strong interpersonal skills, experience working with across business units or departments or with cross-functional teams
Ability to manipulate, analyze, and distill large volumes of data
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong understanding of the interdependencies of financial accounts and cost and revenue drivers
Intermediate to advanced user of MS Excel
Intermediate user of MS PowerPoint
Preferred
Qualifications:
MBA
Proven experience in a Financial Management role
SAP experience in a manufacturing environment
Relevant experience in a Job Cost Environment and/or contract cost accounting (SOP 81-1)
Accounting/Finance experience in Aerospace & Defense Industry (and L-3 as a preference)
Physical Requirements: Will work in a manufacturing/assembly environment. May work in the following environmental conditions: noise, vibration, proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current. Must be able to bend and reach. Must have close visual acuity such as viewing a computer terminal, extensive reading, visual inspection involving small defects or parts, and/or operation of machines and/or assembly of fabricated parts at close distance to the eyes. Must be able to maneuver up to 20 pounds Will be performing substantial movements (motions) of the wrists, hands or fingers.
